Drove the publicity campaign for the 10th anniversary of the biggest youth show in Mzansi.

In my nostalgic return to Okuhle Media, I had the opportunity to lead the publicity campaign for homegrown youth show, Hectic Nine-9 (HN9), on its 10th anniversary. Our goal was to showcase the HN9 brand’s impressive growth in its first decade, its impact on the youth, the careers it had launched, and ultimately, to celebrate the audience whose support had propelled it into the top youth show in South Africa

The month-long campaign included surprise celebrity appearances and cameos from former presenters, (sponsored) viewer competitions and prizes, stories centred on the youth-led production team, and the biggest live audiences, giving viewers the chance to be part of the celebrations. The results: increased show ratings, and coverage worth close to R500k in titles like Weekend Post, Cape Argus, City Press and more. It was also a great preamble to HN9 moving to a new, state-of-the-art studio. Sprout landed the studio launch project as a result of achievements gained in the birthday campaign.
